At the sources of the Blues, the Niger’s River, and local traditional bamana blues, played by extraordinary artists such as the « n’goni fola » Bassekou Kouyate or guitarist Lobi Traore from Segou. Next, we go all along the river to Timbuktu, listening to Songhai artists Ali Farka Toure & Afel Bocoum, and then the desert’s guitars of Tinariwen.
This trip starts in South Carolina on an other river (the Savannah’s one) with old bluesman Captain Luke, who also closes this selection.
